Job Description |
 |
|
Sycamore School is an independent, co-educational day school serving the needs of over 400 academically gifted students in Preschool through Grade 8. Founded in 1985, Sycamore is the only school in Indiana and one of few in the nation where the entire program is designed to meet the needs of gifted learners. Dedicated and talented teachers draw upon their training and experience in gifted education in order to provide a stimulating and supportive environment where engaged students experience a challenging, enriched, and accelerated program. Sycamore enjoys a beautiful facility and has an annual budget of $5.2 million. Accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, Sycamore is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Association for Gifted Children, and the Indiana Association for the Gifted. The Early Childhood Head is a member of an eight-person adminitrative leadership team and reports to the Head of School. The Early Childhood Head is the "face" of the Early Childhood division as well as the educational, strategic, and operational leader for that division. Early Childhood at Sycamore consists of approximately 120 children in seven classes and eighteen faculty and staff. Areas of oversight include: curriculum and instruction; faculty and staff supervision and evaluation; parent communication and education; student supervision and discipline; and general daily operation.
