Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the IT Systems Administrator (“ITSA”) provides leadership in technology. The ITSA is responsible for the oversight of Archer’s network and technology infrastructure. He/she serves as a resource for all of the School’s constituencies. This individual is responsible for resolving complex and everyday service requests relating to Macintosh and PC systems, network, hardware and software problems and malfunctions; providing technical guidance, assistance, and follow-up on all IT inquiries; and managing the implementation of all help desk, laptop, desktop, network, hardware, and software for the entire school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage, implement, and maintain the School’s help desk software.
Make effective use of help desk records to identify patterns and address systemic problems and end-user training needs.
Maintain the School’s local- and wide-area networks, wireless, email, virus protection, and backup. Install, upgrade and maintain servers, routers, switches, workstations, printers and all other technology devices and peripherals.
Maintain inventory of all of the School’s technology (software and hardware). Develop the ability to serve as internal technical contact for Blackbaud’s suite of products: Educational Edge, Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge.
Troubleshoot network, hardware and software problems efficiently and effectively.
Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
Maintain documentation of network configurations, operating procedures, and service records for all network hardware and software.
Aid the Director of Technology with the preparation and oversight of the Information Technology budget.
Provide assistance to all of the School’s constituencies with the selection of technology resources and solutions.
Serve on the School’s Technology Task Force Committee.
Participate in end-user events, as appropriate (e.g. faculty, student, and parent training sessions).
Assist with the implementation of the Apple one-to-one laptop program. Serve as a source for technology trends, research, applications, and effective practices.
Stay current with new technology trends through professional development.
Fulfill all Audio Visual setup requests for meetings including projectors, screens, and sound.
Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person requests for technical support.
Monitor all support requests to ensure timely resolution.
Unpack, configure, and inventory new computer equipment.
Monitor the use of consumable computer and printer supplies and order supplies as needed.
Manage reservation calendars for equipment (e.g. computer carts, projectors)
Perform preventive maintenance on computer systems, printers, and equipment as needed.
Order and build IT hardware as required (PC and Mac images and builds).
Maintain appropriate professional memberships including CAIS & NAIS.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and the Head of School.
