Dwight School, an International Baccalaureate School, located on the Upper West Side, is seeking a Lower/Upper School Dance Teacher. The teacher will report directly to the Head of Lower School.
Position: Lower/ Upper School Dance Teacher

Requirements of the Position
Teaches 3rd and 4th grade Dance in lower school and upper school dance elective
Teaches a variety of dance forms that includes composition and improvisation, with the understanding of dance as an expressive art form
Applies knowledge of varied approaches to learning in instruction, lesson planning, questioning, and assessment
Utilizes technology effectively, where appropriate, for classroom instruction, student assessments, and reporting
Ensures that all learning goals are clear and communicated effectively to students
Ensures that standards of conduct are clear to all students and appear to have been developed with student participation
Creates a classroom environment that is safe, engaging, student-centered, and inquiry-based
