Educators’ Collaborative is pleased to be assisting St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School of Tampa as they begin their search for their next Head of School. Located in south Tampa on eight acres, St. Mary’s is a Pre-K thru 8th grade coed Parish day school of 445 students. The campus has a number of new buildings, a new athletic facility, and numerous outdoor playing grounds.
The School’s motto of Learn-Love-Lead can be seen and felt as soon as you visit the campus and see the interaction between students and faculty. There is great support from parents and others in the St. Mary’s community.
St. Mary's is highly-regarded for its outstanding academic, athletic, and community outreach programs. There are sixty-three (63) faculty members who are dedicated and hardworking believing that every child deserves the opportunity to excel in school and in life. The Chapel Buddies program and the Primary Help Program allow older students to learn and model appropriate leadership skills.
The School has a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees with eighteen (18) active members.
Mr. Scott Laird has been Head of School since 1996 leading the School through numerous building projects and expanding the facilities and increasing the number of students. Mr. Laird will retire June 30, 2018.
The next Head of School must be a dedicated educator, leader, and support the Christian faith. The successful candidate will be a proven leader of independent schools with Pre-K thru 8th grade experience. Knowledge of fundraising, budget management, and curriculum development is important. The ability to be a team builder and good communicator will be a strength of the next head of school. The preferred start date for the Head of School is July 2018; however, a start date of July 2019 is possible if preferred by the ideal candidate.
