Corlears School, a small New York City independent school located in the lively Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, is seeking a part-time Admission Associate and Office Assistant to support the admissions process. Candidates should be excited about and ready to embrace the school’s focus: serving children in the early childhood and elementary years, and helping them to become compassionate, innovative leaders.
Work closely with the Director of Admission and the Database Manager to collect data that will support the decisions and ideas that arise in the admission office
Support Director of Admission in coordinating with families throughout the admissions process, including scheduling interviews and visits, and greeting families for admission events
Coordinate setup details for admission events such as morning coffee meetings, tours and evening events with maintenance staff
Fielding phone calls and email inquiries regarding admission
Track applicant progress on Ravenna and provide weekly reports to both Admission and Communications departments
Communications assignments as needed
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Comfortable dealing with prospective parents in person, on the phone and by email
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Office products,i.e. Google Docs
Familiarity with database systems
Experience in Independent School community (a plus)
Independent initiative, creative approach
Good sense of humor
