The Village School of Naples is accepting resumes for a Middle School Mathematics Teacher, 5th & 6th grade.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and carrying out mathematics curriculum presentation.
Ensuring the safe welfare of the students in the class.
Planning for differentiation of curriculum to meet student needs.
Planning learning environment with a variety of learning styles in mind.
Modeling Christ Skills, emphasizing this conduct model in all areas at all times.
Maintaining an orderly classroom.
Keeping ongoing communication between parents and school.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for each student.
Supporting the mission and objectives of the school’s learning philosophy.
Working to maintain a team with others on staff.
Providing adequate plans for a substitute teacher.
Supervising an assistant when appropriate.
Attend required faculty meetings.
Maintaining and following daily routines and schedules.
Maintaining the educational materials and equipment in an acceptable way.
Holding parent-teacher conferences as needed, at least once a year.
QUALIFICATIONS: All teachers must have at least a four year degree in education in the area to be taught. If a teaching certificate is not held, the teacher must present credentials which would qualify the teacher to obtain a teaching certificate. Teachers must demonstrate a strong support for the stated learning philosophy of The Village School. Workshops and extra study may be required to ensure a thorough understanding of the philosophy. Spoken and written language skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional. Technology skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional. Technology skills are required to both teach students in the classroom, as well as to maintain records and communications. The class web site is to be maintained regularly. Have the ability to communicate a love of Jesus Christ. Physically, the position of teacher requires sitting, walking, and standing.
