This is a part-time, 12 month appointment (.50 FTE). Hours are primarily Friday- Monday during the academic year, full-time coverage during the 5 week summer session, and occasional coverage for the Medical Director with advance notice. Eligible for pro-rated benefits except for those required by law. This is a non-housed position.
The Associate Medical Director works with the Medical Director to provide for and oversee the comprehensive health and wellness needs of the Phillips Academy student population. The Associate Medical Director ensures comprehensive care and maintains physician weekend call coverage when school is in session and the Wellness Center is open to perform clinical services. When the Medical Director is off-site for conferences, vacations, or illness, the Associate Medical Director supervises and oversees the activities of the medical, nursing, support and auxiliary staffs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Scheduled hours for student appointments from 8am-12:30pm, and available for phone and/or in-person consultation outside of those hours, on Saturdays and Sundays during the academic year; clinical follow-up with student visits/deans and directors across campus/wellness center team on Monday from 8am-12:30pm during the academic year; remain available to the Wellness Center clinical and administrative support team as scheduled during weekends and when covering for the Medical Director; full-time during the 5 week summer session.
Education and/or Experience: M.D. or D.O. with experience in adolescent medicine, pediatrics, or family medicine. Board certification or board eligible in pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine-pediatrics. Experience in a residential school setting beneficial.
