The Director of Constituent Relations and Campaign Management is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs, activities, events, and communications that strategically engage alumni and grandparents in the life of the school, and facilitate and strengthen connections within and among the alumni and grandparent constituents and the school. In addition, campaign management responsibilities require the overall maintenance and support of fundraising campaigns.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Create and execute a plan that results in growth for alumni and grandparent programming as demonstrated through increased alumni and grandparent involvement in the school
Support all alumni and grandparent events and other special events as needed
Provide leadership and direction to the Alumni and Grandparents' Councils. This includes enlisting, training and motivating volunteer members; planning and executing productive meetings.
Where appropriate, work collaboratively with the communications department regarding alumni and grandparent social media and outreach.
Integrate alumni and grandparent giving into the school's fundraising programs; specifically the annual fund and capital campaigns
Perform daily administrative activities associated with campaign planning, and assist with cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition related activities and events as needed.
Support capital campaign efforts with prospect to research specific to donors and foundations, and assist the Database Manager updating and managing the prospect campaign module
Assist with the planning and management of cultivation, stewardship, and recognition events
Assist in preparation of reports and presentations for various committees and staff meetings.
Manage special projects and events throughout the year
Professional and Personal Qualifications: Three or more years experience in alumni relations, fundraising, event planning for school or not-for-profit organization(s), preferably in the areas of stewardship and constituency engagement. Experience with capital campaigns desired.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to enjoy getting to know the school's diverse constituencies. Needs to be a self-starter. Strong organizational and managerial skills, preferably with experience volunteer management and campaign management. Ability to moderate effective and stimulating meetings. A cooperative team approach with colleagues and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly defined. Good sense of humor and ability to be part of a closely interactive team of four advancement professionals.
Technical Qualifications: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and preferably with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge. Ability to provide one's own general clerical support while working with Director of Database and Advancement Services, who is responsible for data input and generation of most reports.
At minimum an undergraduate degree is required. Experience in a school or organization while a capital campaign was in progress preferred.
