Walnut Hill School for the Arts, an internationally renowned independent arts boarding school in Natick, MA, is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist. This position will serve a diverse faculty and staff, some of whom live on campus. The Human Resources Generalist will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources function by implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. This is a 12-month, Part-Time (60%) position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
Establish and document HR policies and procedures
Update job descriptions and job requirements
Support hiring managers in the recruitment of new faculty and staff
Create onboarding and orientation procedures for all new hires
Communicate with employees about compensation, benefits, and other facets of their employment
Compensation and benefits administration
Oversee and conduct yearly updates of the employee handbooks
Oversee performance management and improvement systems
Work with other managers to ensure best practices and compliance with all governmental and labor law
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements and compliance
Maintain required human resources records
Establish policies and procedures for managing employee departures
Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other related field
5 years' experience in Human Resources
PHR Certification preferred
Strong understanding of benefits administration, payroll, and other human resources functions
Complete knowledge of regulatory and reporting requirements relevant to human resource compliance
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills
