First Baptist Academy is seeking a full-time Director of Advancement. This position is responsible for providing leadership and strategic management to the following areas: Advancement, Marketing and Communications, and Admissions.
The experienced individual will primarily guide a talented staff in the following areas:
Manage the Advancement staff on a daily basis.
Attend Development meetings, organize and attend committee meetings pertaining to fund raising and event planning. Attend weekly Leadership Team Meetings and Board meetings, as necessary.
Strategically manage/coordinate all fundraising activities, including: Annual giving program, school auction, capital campaigns, grant writing.
Serve as the professional liaison to the First Friends Parent Organization, who are involved with community and fund raising events.
Report to and work closely with the Head of School and, if needed, the FBA Board of Directors, while creating and implementing fundraising goals/plans, donor cultivation and donor recognition.
Oversee the quality and consistency of all donor records tracking pledge payments, sending payment reminders and appreciation letters. Produce donor reports as necessary.
Marketing and Communication
Responsible for publishing the Leader on a monthly/quarterly basis, oversee the publishing of Warrior Words on a weekly basis, and work with Department Directors and Head to ensure the consistency of all printed FBA articles and brochures.
Create and produce marketing communications to support fundraising events. Produce qualitative and quantitative fundraising reports.
Oversee the Admissions Director and team on a daily basis.
Work with the Admissions Director to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and recruiting plan.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing/communications.
Ability to professionally interact with volunteers in a creative and effective demeanor.
Ability to conceptualize, plan and implement a cohesive strategy for advancement and marketing.
Strong oral communication skills and a sophisticated understanding of what should be communicated to different audiences, from parents to alumni to prospective students to various media outlets. Proven writing, editing and proofreading skills.
At least 5 years’ experience in development, communications, marketing and related fields. Knowledge and experience with communications, promotional and marketing principles.
At least 5 years’ experience overseeing or participating in an Admissions role within an educational setting.
Preferred experience with Finalsite, Admin Plus, Constant Contact and Sustain.
