We are looking for Associate Teacher's for the Early Childhood Program for the 2017 - 2018 school year at our Brooklyn school. The Early Childhood Teacher will work with students aged 4 years old and include the UPK program.
The school year is consistent with the Jewish calendar and closed during the summer.
The Associate Teacher will support the curriculum plans of the head teacher, have opportunities to initiate and implement parts of the curriculum, and gradually assume increased responsibilities that facilitates active, hands-on learning, group management, self-expression and choice, and inclusion of all children, parents, volunteers and staff.
In a classroom environment, Teachers will supervise a warm, nurturing developmentally appropriate environment for the development of the whole child while integrating a program of both Limudei Hol and Limudei Kodesh under Magen David Yeshivah’s high level of care and educational standards.
Teach within a project-based program involving teaching through engaging topics that allow the integration of meaningful learning in all content areas while also supporting development across multiple domains.
Judaic studies are integrated and reinforced throughout the day.
Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress
Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught
Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students
Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.
Follow UPK program
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
Hold certification and/or license in Early Childhood Education
Knowledge of the Hebrew Language and Orthodox Judaism is required.
Preference will be given to those with teaching experience.
