The Logan School for Creative Learning is an independent K-8 school for approximately 250 gifted students who are exceptionally inquisitive and hungry for knowledge. The Logan School fosters this love of learning by providing an experience-based education that allows students to develop individually to their fullest potential. With a focus on higher levels of critical thinking, students develop a mature sense of whom they are and how they will connect with the world around them -- skills that will serve them well into the future.
The Development Assistant supports the Director of Development in integrating the efforts of staff, parents and trustees toward achieving the school’s community engagement and fundraising goals. The school’s development efforts raise in excess of $400,000 annually in support of the school’s operating budget. Additionally, funds are raised for the school’s endowment and various other targeted programs.
This is a salaried, non-exempt position.
The Director of Development is the direct supervisor for this position.
Hours may vary and will depend on the needs of the Development Department but are typically 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday August 1-June 15. Summer hours will be more flexible.
Attendance is required at All-Staff Meetings until 5:00pm at least once per month.
There will be occasional evening and weekend commitments require
Support donor development and cultivation efforts
Schedule committee meetings, send out reminders, and take meeting minutes for various committees of the school
Perform research and prepare and submit grant proposals in conjunction with the Director of Development
Generate all donor acknowledgments
Manage all donor and gift data in the school’s data base
Provide event support including set up; clean up, data entry, and administrative coordination for various special events
Serve as liaison between vendors and development team
Implement campaign solicitations and mailings
Attend community events as assigned to present and support philanthropic activities of the school
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development
Compensation: Salary is $27,600 ($2300/mo) paid over 12 months (August -July) for 43 work weeks (work schedule is August-June with 2 weeks off in December) with overtime eligibility. Salary upon hire will be determined based on hire date. Rate of pay is $16.05/hour.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and donor data base systems
Experience in event coordination and support
Non-profit fundraising experience
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
Availability to work some night and weekend events
Ability to pass a background check, DMV check and drug screening
Valid driver’s license
