Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School Spanish teacher who is passionate about language and cultures and committed to connecting with and supporting students. The ideal candidate will use the ACTFL Can-Do Statements along with the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines to structure and assess student learning. Interest in or experience using standards-based grading is also highly valued.
Two classes need to be taught from, approximately, the end of August until the end of November. The classes are Novice Mid, a beginning level course, and Language and Culture, a course whose students are at an Intermediate High proficiency level. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing classes, teaching the classes, issuing grades and comments, parent communications, office hours, and Parents’ Night.
Interested candidates should apply via Latin’s website. Candidates will complete the application and submit a letter of interest and CV. Prior teaching experience is required, preferably at the appropriate level.
