The Agnes Irwin School's Visual & Performing Arts Department seeks an experienced, dynamic, and creative full-time Middle School Music Teacher, beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year. Successful candidates will have a proven record of teaching music to youth, engaging students in class, managing a classroom in an effective and safe manner, and inspiring a love of music.
Primary responsibility includes, but is not limited to: • Teach 5th – 7th Grade music classes, choirs, and choral ensembles • Plan and implement choral performances, assemblies, and interschool concerts • Serve as Music Director for all middle school performances
Successful applicants must possess: • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree an asset • Minimum 3 years experience teaching music • Proven ability to teach music, to school-aged children, in a way that students sequentially develop skills with enthusiasm and enjoyment • Excellent choral director and performance skills • Demonstrated piano, conducting, and choral singing proficiency
