Due to significant increases in enrollment the Yeshiva of Greater Washington (YGW) is possibly looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, talented Science teacher(s) for the 2017-2018 school year. The available classes can be combined into a full-time position, or can be a wonderful part-time position for someone who only wants to teach 1-2 classes in the morning or afternoon. YGW is a small orthodox Jewish secondary school and college program on two campuses in Silver Spring and has been serving our community for over 50 years.
Classes range from Middle School Life and Physical to various Advanced Placement (AP) Sciences.
Observe, evaluate, report and record students' performance
Present subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style
Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families and colleagues
The position will begin approximately August 21, 2017.
Bachelor’s degree required
Outgoing and friendly personality with the ability to effectively manage a small classroom
The ability to also teach Math or some other core subject will be highly valued
Classes times vary from 9am – 6:30 pm
Detail oriented and organized with a strong work ethic
Must be comfortable and respectful of the values in an orthodox Jewish environment
5 or more years’ experience as a teacher in a secondary education setting preferred
