The curriculum is age appropriate and allows children to explore and develop skills through a variety of activities. KCA respects children’s cultural and religious heritage. KCA provides a nurturing, dynamic and educational environment for children ages 20 months through five years. Position begins as soon as possible. The next Director will embrace the mission school, continue to uphold its core values and be fully committed to the developmental and educational needs of children. The Director will be able to effectively lead our talented teaching staff and inspire their passion for teaching as well as partner with the administrative staff to manage the school year-round. The vitality of our program is maintained through an interactive partnership between school and home; the Director is the linchpin of these relationships, working with staff and families to create a special place where children can thrive.
Summary of Responsibilities: The ECC Director serves at the discretion of the Head of School and is responsible for the educational and administrative activities of the school.
Major Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensure KCA continues to maintain high quality standards – o Meet all mandates and guidelines established by city, state and federal agencies to insure state licensing. o Facilitate, support and participate in professional development and continuing education • Operate the preschool on a daily basis, including site, building and classroom operation, staff supervision, parent relations, safety considerations and community outreach • Engage children and parents, encourage participation and maintain an active and respected presence within the school • Prepare, implement and manage a budget for the school • Recruit, supervise, support and develop teaching and administrative staff • Market KCA to prospective families; Coordinate and manage the KCA admissions process
Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree required in Early Childhood Education or related field; Master’s Degree strongly preferred • Early Childhood Education experience required • Prior managerial/administrative experience in an educational setting required (including budgeting and financial management) • Computer literacy, including word processing and email competency; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite a plus
