Pingree School, an independent co-educational day school for grades 9-12, seeks experienced and responsible individuals to serve as a part-time foreign language tutors in French and Spanish. The tutors will work with individual students during their free periods to provide support in grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills in French or Spanish. Tutors will work an estimated one to four hours per week; the hours of the position vary depending on student schedules and needs.
Specific duties include:
Assisting students with grammar, vocabulary and conversational skills in French or Spanish
To provide support in skills and strategies to assist with foreign language study
To communicate with the assigned students’ parents, teachers and advisors as needed
To provide the number of required support sessions as deemed by the Director of ERC
To consult with Director of ERC with any concerns or recommendations for assigned students
Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and skills include:
A bachelor’s degree is required
A minimum of two years’ classroom teaching at the high school level is preferred
Fluency in Spanish or French
Experience with tutoring students in a foreign language is preferred
Successful candidates will be organized, reliable, patient and creative
Must have flexibility in scheduling during the school day
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must agree to and successfully complete a criminal background check
