The Hewitt School seeks a creative and strategic candidate to support the school’s communications and marketing initiatives, and to tell our story through digital and print media.
The Content Manager will create content for our website, social media channels, and print publications, and work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Admissions Office; Advancement Office; and Lower, Middle, and Upper School Divisions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and video production, as well as a passion for working with educators, parents, and students in an innovative, supportive environment.
The Content Manager will report to the Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives. This 12-month, full-time position begins immediately and is eligible for a comprehensive employee benefits package.
Content creation: Develop compelling storytelling content for Hewitt’s social networking platforms, website, email, and print media. Customize content according to its delivery channel. Content will include graphics, photographs, illustrations, infographics, animation, and short- and longer-form video.
Website management: Plan and execute content updates to the school’s website to communicate recent news, highlight school happenings, share information about fundraising activities, and support the admissions process.
Graphic design: Create graphics to bring the school’s visual brand identity to life. Create original graphics, infographics, illustrations and animations for print, video, and online media.
Photography and videography: Capture, edit, and produce high quality photographs and video of school activities, events, and campaigns. Select photos to curate online galleries and social media posts, to fuel publications, and to display on screens.
Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in communications, design or related field
2+ years professional experience in a relevant field
Expertise with graphic design, videography, and photography
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, PowerPoint, and Keynote
Experience using social media for digital storytelling and marketing
Experience with web content management and software
Experience juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Detail-oriented, deadline driven, and self-motivated
Experience with web and social media analytics
Experience with project management
Knowledge of Excel
Experience with institutional equity and diversity work
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Attend relevant in-class activities and occasional evening and weekend academic events, informational events, family gatherings, or performances
