The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the facilities for Cambridge Montessori School (CMS), including the three buildings CMS currently occupies as well as the land it currently owns.
This person will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of contractors used to make repairs and complete building improvements, overseeing custodial and janitorial providers and performing minor repairs to all buildings.
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the three buildings that currently house the School’s facilities. Together, these buildings house approximately 230 to 250 students and approximately 65 faculty and staff. The three buildings total approximately 30,000 square feet. The buildings are well maintained but, because of their age and use, require a fair amount of care and repair.
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the development of an annual budget, as well as adherence to that budget over the course of the year. Summers in particular can be very busy because of the projects, painting and clean-up when the School is not in session.
Perform other duties in pursuit of the school’s mission as assigned by the Head of School or the Director of Finance and Operations.
The Facilities Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations.
Experience with facilities maintenance in a multi-unit, heavily used setting
Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with school leadership, parents and teachers, as needed
Familiarity with contractor management and oversight, as well as control of expenditures relative to a budget
Awareness of the unique challenges associated with operating in a school environment
Strong customer service focus when dealing with all constituents
