A leadership role in the development and implementation of the Hooulu Kumu program focused on new approaches to effective teacher recruitment.
In consultation with the EVP Education and other senior education leaders, assures optimal teaching and learning performance including setting, designing and implementing optimal educational standards, instructional models, professional development and operational effectiveness to support rigorous, relevant World Class HCBE world class outcomes.
Works with educational leaders to identify, design and implement innovative instructional models that support and propel 21st century World Class HCBE and learning for all students through challenging and articulated learning standards and relevant and effective instructional practices that are culturally-based.
Provides guidance and counsel for optimal student development and performance, faculty instruction and operational systems for effective innovation and governance.
Works with various stakeholders to incorporate the schools' Learner Outcomes (E Ola!) into the curriculum and develop authentic assessments for these Outcomes.
Kamehameha Schools (KS) has a Senior Education Consultant position available at our Kapalama Campus location on the island of Oahu. Education: Master's or doctoral degree in Education or closely related field.
Summary of Minimum Requirements:
More than 10 years of education, administrative and business management experience to include demonstrated effective leadership; preparing, revising and managing systems supporting educational programs, managing a variety of staff.
At least 5 years previous experience as a senior curriculum, instruction and assessment director, principal, headmaster or Public School equivalent (e.g. Complex Area Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent) level position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
Demonstrated commitment to an improved, high-quality education system for Native Hawaiian learners; a commitment to the mission of Princess Bernice Pauahi.
Strategic and creative thinking and analytical skills that support and provide education leadership with varied points of view when problem-solving and implementing innovative solutions to improve educational outcomes.
Experience in leading large, complex educational system involving campus and community based programs.
