Friends Academy is seeking an energetic and dedicated Lower Elementary First Grade Long-Term Substitute from the end of November 2017 through June 2018.
Responsibilities and qualifications include, but are not limited to:
-Design and implement differentiated and inquiry-based curriculum to best meet the needs of students
-Strong understanding of early literacy instruction, reading and writing workshop, and authentic assessments
-Encourage creativity and learning based on the Mission of Friends Academy, a school founded in 1810
-Attend faculty meetings with a willingness to work within a collaborative culture
-Collaborate with faculty and specialists to create an integrated academic program
-Understanding of Learning Portfolios and Project-based learning
-Understanding of social-emotional learning and Responsive Classroom
-Understanding of positive discipline and Morning Meetings aimed at creating a caring school community
-Commitment to the mission, history and traditions of our 200+yr old school community
Bachelor's degree required
Teaching experience required
