Believe it or not, schools don’t clean themselves. That’s why we’re looking for someone to help us keep our 20-acre, 5-building campus looking sharp.
We seek a janitor to work later in the school day (late afternoons and evenings). You’ll clean classrooms and common spaces, performing both daily and seasonal tasks, as well as tackling new challenges as they arise.
This job is for you if:
You know how to keep a school looking clean and attractive on a daily basis. You can sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, haul trash, rake, and do some basic lawn upkeep.
You can also do heavier cleaning tasks as needed. Shampooing carpets? Waxing floors? The occasional kitchen deep clean? You’re all in.
You’re handy. You know an O-ring from a gasket, and a phillips head from an Allen wrench. A leaky faucet doesn’t frighten you, and you can troubleshoot small repairs as needed.
Enjoy the challenge of caring for a historic building. Our campus was originally a private home, built in the early 1900’s. It has high ceilings, crown moldings, and plenty of nooks and crannies.
When something needs to get done, you do it. You show initiative, dive into whatever tasks needs to be done, accept responsibility, and do high quality work without people peering over your shoulder.
If this sounds like you, please submit your cover letter, resume, and references to Christy St. John at firstname.lastname@example.org, by October 6, 2017.
