The Learning Center at Pacific Point is looking for a dynamic educator who has experience teaching math to students with varying levels of math abilities. The ideal interventionist specializes in small group and one-to-one instruction for grades 1-8. Instruction would consist of supporting students in math curriculum from their schools, and using intervention programs to remediate academic gaps.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Valid teaching credential: Mathematics or Special Education
Tutoring/Intervention experience in a 1:1 setting, math preferred
Summary of Interventionist Responsibilities:
Effectively teach elementary/middle school students in a 1:1 setting.
Knowledge and expertise in designing lesson plans around common core math goals
Set and monitor learning goals
Adapt instruction and lessons based on individual student needs
Use data to guide instruction
Complete a weekly summary of the student’s progress including specific data
Complete progress reports to track academic progress
Embrace and seek out new technology or other tools to enhance and improve the quality of math instruction
Must be available during after-school hours Monday - Friday (2:30 - 5)
