The International School of the Peninsula (ISTP) seeks an Elementary School Chinese Teacher for our Mandarin Immersion program to work as a Long Term Substitute from December 2017 through June 2018.
The Elementary School Chinese Teacher must demonstrate commitment to ISTP’s mission and the population we serve, as well as be experienced with teaching at the Elementary level. He or she must also be responsible, self-motivated, friendly, willing to work with a team of colleagues, and be accepting and adaptable to a working environment with different cultures.
The position involves teaching through inquiry according to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, while also ensuring foundational skills acquisition, and collaborating extensively with English, French, and Chinese colleagues. Time for collaboration with the other teachers is built into the schedule. ISTP seeks teachers who know how to combine academic rigor with student engagement and have experience with inquiry-based teaching and learning.
Minimum 3 years experience teaching elementary school children
Experience with the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) preferred
Native Mandarin speaker
