Pingree School seeks an accomplished and enthusiastic world language instructor to teach four sections of Spanish to begin after our December break and to continue through the end of our second trimester in mid-March (with the possibility of shadowing classes the week prior to December break). In addition to teaching four sections, responsibilities include submitting student grades and comments at the midpoint and end of the term, contributing to student review meetings, and participating in language department meetings.
Language instruction at Pingree has as its underlying essence the belief that our curriculum should be equally focused on the development of proficiency and confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the target language. The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish and will have experience with and a passion for teaching in the target language at multiple levels in a secondary school. Experience or ability to teach advanced levels would be an added strength. Pingree seeks candidates who value creativity, innovation, and the use of technology in the classroom. Additionally, interested candidates should be committed to working collaboratively in a dynamic and collegial department. Finally, we seek candidates who believe in integrating cultural learning along with language learning.
Pingree School is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
Dedicated to academic excellence and development of high personal standards, Pingree believes that a love of learning flourishes best in a diverse community that respects truth, curiosity, creativity, humor, and independent and imaginative thinking. Above all, Pingree strives to instill in its students integrity, decency, compassion, self-esteem and commitment to one another and to the world at large.
