About The Logan School:About The Logan School: The Logan School for Creative Learning was founded in 1989 with the mission of providing an experience-based educational opportunity for gifted children of all backgrounds that allows each child to develop individually to her/his full potential. The school enrolls approximately 245 students from four through fourteen years of age. The core of our program features individual student units. Unit topics are chosen by each student and the teacher then helps design an individual unit of study.

Job Description: The Spanish Teacher is responsible for teaching immersion-style language classes that incorporate grammar studies to mixed-age classes, ages 4.5-12 years. The instructor will create and shape language levels to fit the needs of the students. The instruction will need to be designed to engage students of various ages, interests, learning styles etc. The Spanish teacher will execute lesson plans using a variety of media and expose students to cultural topics and historical events pertaining to the language.
The Language Lab Teacher is responsible for managing the on-line Middlebury Language program labs. This lab serves our Advanced School students (12-14 years) in Spanish, French, German, Mandarin and Latin. Applicant should have comfort with online, interactive teaching platforms.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing a safe, supportive environment with clear expectations
Developing a plan for each class taught using a variety of methods and techniques in the classroom
Using a variety of learning tools to meet the needs of diverse learners
Completing individual qualitative evaluation for each student completing a course
Developing interesting, exciting classes for the students
Developing a diverse repertoire of language learning topics that can vary from year to year
Maintaining communication with the core teacher
Using appropriate techniques and strategies that support student creativity and experience with language
Using effective, positive and respectful interpersonal communication skills
Establishing positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families
Working with a mentor/supervisor to develop pedagogy
Teach students how to build basic language skills, and help them develop over time
Work closely with students to develop skills in conversation, pronunciation, fluidity, comprehension, understanding, and fluency
Being responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of room and supplies
