The Director of the Annual Fund develops, executes and analyzes strategies for increasing annual fund support and participation to maximize gift revenues from R-MA alumni, parents, friends, foundations, corporations and other constituents. The position reports to the Director of Advancement and in coordination with the Alumni Engagement Coordinator, oversees Alumni Giving and Reunion Giving.
This is a high-profile position which requires a creative, talented, and experienced advancement professional who is both entrepreneurial and collaborative.
Responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a comprehensive and innovative annual giving program.
With the Annual Fund Chairs, solicits and secures gifts to the school from individuals at leadership levels.
With the Annual Fund Chairs, motivates non-leadership donors to consider increasing their gifts
Supports the reunion giving program.
Oversees the communication strategy for the Annual Fund program and works collaboratively with the Office of Public Relations to implement the overall strategy for the department, including the annual report.
Works collaboratively with the Advancement Coordinator to ensure that departmental goals for stewardship are achieved.
Works closely with the Advancement Team on special events such as Homecoming, Parents’ Weekends and Award/Special Recognition events.
Plans, organizes, and develops the annual report of donors and writes development articles for the Sabre magazine.
Is involved in setting Annual Fund goals based on historical data and Academy budgetary needs.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Development/fundraising experience in educational and/or non-profit organizations, including personal solicitations.
Familiarity with handling confidential information appropriately.
Demonstrated excellent writing and oral communications skills.
Familiarity with Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge database platform.
Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary and travel to visit/recruit/solicit prospective donors and volunteers; must have a valid driver’s license.
Founded in 1892, Randolph-Macon Academy is a co-ed boarding and day school for approximately 400 students in grades 6-12.
