The Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) addresses the lack of diversity in the nation’s teaching faculties by recruiting outstanding students committed to diversity, equity, and social justice. IRT is currently seeking an experienced, energetic, and visionary leader to serve as Executive Director (ED). The Executive Director is responsible for growing the organization while maintaining and improving the quality of IRT’s service to the educational community as well as manage IRT’s relationship with Phillips Academy, Andover. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and Director of Summer Session, and the ED has ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the organization. IRT offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated and talented staff, an active and committed Board of Directors, and the opportunity to make an important impact on the state of education across the country.

A thorough knowledge of all programs and degree fields offered by the IRT
An academic background in the social sciences, education, or humanities
An advanced degree in the social sciences, humanities, or education required
A record of successfully working with diverse and underrepresented students and a clear, demonstrated commitment to the mission of the IRT
Significant professional experience with organizational development, fundraising and working collaboratively with an advisory board
Proven communication skills, including speaking, writing, meeting facilitation, and consensus building.
Mastery of software and technology used in the daily processes and functioning of the office (including but not limited to Canvas, Google, Outlook, Word, Excel, ChromeRiver)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
