Summary of Duties:
Provides leadership for the successful implementation of Hawaiian focused charter school programs. Engages in high-level strategic planning, providing advisement on KS' efforts impacting Hawaiian focused charter schools and other schools in the kula Hawaii network, including data- and experience-driven recommendations, especially as relating to KS' community investments in Hawaiian focused charter schools.
Recruits for, hires, leads, guides, coaches, and manages a team of Senior Project Managers charged with anticipating and supporting the needs of Kanaeokana priority initiative work groups comprised of interested Kanaeokana school leaders (i.e., principals, vice-principals, curriculum coordinators, or other school leaders).
Provides leadership and support to ensure that the Hoolako Like and Network Facilitation team is actively and successfully facilitating the network entities' engagement in Kanaeokana. Engages directly in the same with a defined set of schools and organizations.
Works with the Kealaiwikuamoo Director and leadership team to ensure cohesive and mutually supportive efforts and outcomes in all areas of the department's engagement. Also engages in frequent and clear communication with leadership in the Regions to ensure coordination of Kanaeokana, Hoolako Like, and Regional efforts.
Provides administrative oversight and leadership to the charter school support program, including budget development and allocation, budget oversight and accountability, and the designing and conducting of program evaluation to assess program effectiveness, strategic goal achievement and program improvement. Assures departments work within organizational regulatory and policy requirements.
Education: Master's degree in education or related studies.
Summary of Minimum Requirements:
5 or more years' experience in managing fiscal and human resources responsibilities, and program/project operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years' experience as a Director or Manager.
Strong record of educational leadership and expertise in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Proven ability to develop successful educational programs and partnerships.
Strong analytical skills, able to interpret and synthesize financial information and reports quickly. Demonstrated ability to prepare, manage, and report on budgets.
Familiarity with Hawaiian communities and an ability to work seamlessly in those communities.
