General Responsibilities: • The Admissions Associate plays a vital role in executing the strategies for the recruitment of new students. This position works with the Director of Admissions to develop and implement programs to attract and enroll qualified students for Connelly. • Articulates Connelly’s mission and philosophy to all prospective students and families. • Energetically and aggressively generates a substantial applicant pool of qualified young women who represent social, cultural, racial and economic diversity. The ultimate goal is full enrollment at each grade level and a waiting list. • Maintains professionalism in dress, speech, manners and written correspondence. Admissions Activities that will require assistance from the associate: • Maintenance of a thorough applicant file system, admissions decision process and year-to-date inquiry list. • Admissions decision process, which consists of gathering application materials, entrance testing, applicant interviews, review of the Admissions Committee decisions and notification of decision to applicants; follows up with all families regardless of matriculation decision. • Schedules, coordinates Ambassadors at targeted admissions events, i.e., high school nights, elementary school visits, etc. • Coordinates the Shadow Program in consultation with the Director of Admissions • Ensures that all brochures and handouts required for school visits and Open Houses are collated and ready for distribution. • May travel for recruitment, attendance at off-campus admissions meetings, Saturday testing, Interview Days, school events, evening meetings and weekend admissions work as necessary. Hours cannot be adjusted for Open Houses, Entrance Exam, Interview Days, New Parents Information Night and Marketing Committee meetings. Hours can be adjusted for high school nights and additional events to the above. • Conducts tours as needed during the school day. • Sends out information packets to interested families, follows up with families and students who demonstrate interest.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree, plus some sales and clerical experience, or combination of education and experience applicable to admissions work. • Good basic organizational skills with experience in maintaining filing and recording systems, • Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone and via email.
