The Guidance and Transition Coordinator plays an integral role in managing post-secondary planning for students with special needs in grades 8 – 12. Through the implementation of transition course work and an individualized post-secondary planning process, the Guidance and Transition Coordinator prepares students to matriculate into college, transition programs, trade school, or the workplace. The Guidance and Transition Coordinator directly supports students and families in making positive post-secondary choices. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing the following:
Guidance and Transition Services
Individualized Post-secondary Planning
Individualized College Application Support
Administration of Aspire and ACT Special Testing Accommodations
Admissions Representative Visits
Visits to Post-Secondary Programs/Campuses
Guidance Counselor Recommendations
Management of Transcripts
COTAGS Annual College Fair

Candidate must hold a Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field. Candidate must be certified and/or licensed. Special Education experience preferred.
