Kamehameha Schools (KS) has a Middle School Math Specialist (5-year Limited Term) position available at our Hawai’i Island Campus in Kea’au.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time position with 40 hours of work per week ending 6/6/2022.
Summary of Duties:
Provides direct Math related instruction to large and small groups of students. Includes assessment, planning/preparation, implementation and evaluation of instruction.
Provides a variety of teaching strategies to address the needs of students with diverse learning needs.
Serves as a resource to staff to develop Math skills and awareness. Assists in the integration of application of best practices in classrooms.
Keeps current with best practices and develops instructional approaches and materials for most effective learning. Contributes to the continuing development of curriculum in the area of Math instruction.
Supervises students in and out of classroom using effective management practices.
Bachelors Degree in Education, Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, or other related field.
Summary of Minimum Requirements:
3 - 5 years of related work experience.
Current knowledge of best practices in Math and their application within a Middle school setting.
Awareness of child development levels, methods of instruction to meet learning differences, and expectations appropriate to Middle school children.
Ability to administer and interpret appropriate Math and other assessments appropriate to Middle school children.
