OBJECTIVES: The Director of Enrollment Management will provide visionary leadership in the development, implementation and achievement of strategic recruitment and retention goals of the School. The Director of Enrollment Management will lead and inspire a team of professionals to enroll a diverse community of mission-aligned day and boarding students, who will appreciate the unique culture and programmatic offerings of The Masters School. A proactive, experienced thought-leader and strategic thinker, the Director will maintain the high standards of our Admission practice, while further strengthening the reputation of The Masters School in existing markets and establishing a presence in new ones. The Director of Enrollment Management will be responsible for ensuring business objectives and enrollment goals are in alignment with the strategic plan of the School. The Director will help shape the vision and goals of the School’s enrollment strategy, while engaging students and families from around the United States and abroad.
The goals of the Director of Enrollment Management will include:
Contribute to the mission and standards of the School by recruiting and retaining Middle School day students, Upper School day, domestic and international boarding students, as well as CITYterm boarding students
Support the goals of diversity in all its forms
Create and implement strategies for the recruitment of international students and ensure services for the integration of international students into the campus community
Incorporate the use of research, data mining and quantitative analysis in the enrollment management process
Advance the School’s commitment to a diverse boarding population
Continue to nurture existing relationships with feeder schools and establish new relationships with schools, educational consultants and placement organizations around the world
Increase awareness and visibility of Masters – locally, nationally and globally
Understand the culture of The Masters School and the broader educational environment
Foster high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumnae/i, parents and students throughout the admissions process
Report directly to the Head of School and serve on the School’s Leadership team
Work closely with the Head of School to establish a vision for enrollment management that can be clearly articulated
Set specific and measurable goals for staff that align with the strategic objectives
Responsible for achieving measurable enrollment goals and objectives on time and within budget
Responsible for enrollment projections, goals, budget, policies and procedures
Serve as the enrollment liaison to the Board of Trustees and provide regular update and reports
Partner with the Director of Strategic Communications to develop a strategic recruitment and communication plan to reach target audiences
Identify and implement best-practice digital technologies, and assist in the production of viewbooks and other enrollment and marketing materials
Partner with the CFO on school-wide projects, including financial aid decisions/administration
Responsibly manage the Admission Office budget
Responsible for hiring, developing, directing, mentoring and managing the admission team toward ensuring successful enrollment outcomes.
Communicate clearly and enthusiastically to all faculty, staff, parents and prospective students
Be a presence on campus to forge relationships with faculty, staff and volunteers
Demonstrated long-term experience at independent schools, preferably with boarding school experience
Ability to think strategically, critically and creatively
Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a Board of Trustees
Demonstrated leadership skills
The ability to work collaboratively with other school community members
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to provide measurable results and analytics
Willingness to travel as needed, including internationally
