RESPONSIBILITIES: The Digital Media Coordinator will be responsible for writing, video storytelling, and posting content on various digital platforms. This includes creative development and maintenance of Culver Academies’ websites, blogs, electronic newsletters, and social media campaigns and events. Important duties include graphic design, editing digital images, designing webpages, interviewing, video editing, and using electronic publishing software efficiently and effectively. Expected to leverage online marketing tools such as SEO and other platforms to increase interactive results. Current social media niches include drone videotaping, 360, and Facebook Live.
Ongoing management duties include marketing research to identify online trends, tracking developments in emerging technologies, and recognizing the requirements to implement innovative media campaigns, identifying target audiences and creating best ways to present information to these audiences.
As a staff writer the Digital Media Coordinator serves as a primary communicator of the Culver message, functioning as a copywriter, proofreader, consulting in crisis communications, writing and distributing press releases, and drafting copy as needed for internal/external use.
In addition to regular duties, the Digital Media Coordinator is expected to participate in various clubs and activities, coach athletic teams, perform student supervisory, and chaperone duties, and engage in other such duties as may be assigned by the proper authorities.
REQUIREMENTS: Skills in marketing and public relations, plus technological savvy, are required in this field. A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Liberal Arts (English) OR a minimum of five years relevant work experience in a related field; editing, word processing, printing equipment, photography, video editing and storytelling, interviewing, social media platforms, and various software computer programs like Adobe Creative Suite and Wordpress; proven planning and organizational skills are requirements of this position. Knowledge of the printing industry requirements as well as photography skills are desired.
