Stone Ridge is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Upper School Learning Strategist to begin on November 15th, 2017 and conclude on February 26th, 2018.
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. The Long-Term Substitute Upper School Learning Strategist is responsible for teaching Study Skills, in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education. Using the plans provided, s/he ensures the continuity of curriculum and actively collaborates with Faculty and Educational Technologists to develop strategies to support all students. Working closely with the other Upper School Learning Strategist, the Counseling staff, the Assistant Head of Upper School, and Upper School Faculty, s/he continues to support the implementation of Student Success Plans (SSPs) for students with documented learning differences. As needed, s/he supports teachers in differentiating instruction and maintains consistent communication with families concerning SSPs and overall academic progress.

The ideal candidate has experience in independent and/or Catholic school and possesses an advanced degree in a related field. S/he demonstrates experience in working with psycho-educational evaluations and related literature. Ideally, s/he holds experience in mind-brain education and teaching metacognitive strategies for learning. S/he exhibits a passion for and love of student growth and familiarity with trends in the field of learning and development. S/he demonstrates a collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and flexibility.
Additional Salary Information: Long-Term Substitutes are paid at an hourly rate of $18.13, which is equivalent to $145.00 per day.
