The Chapin School, an all-girls school in Manhattan, has an immediate need for an Upper School math teacher to complete this 2017-18 school year.
We are seeking an excellent, experienced math teacher with a master's degree who can teach Geometry and AP Calculus AB (the ability to teach computer would be a bonus, though not required).
Chapin is in the midst of a very exciting K-12 math curriculum and pedagogy review, and we’ve worked with a renowned math consultant on this multi-year project. Ideal candidates for this position must be excited about the review, whose chief goal is to develop our math program so that our students learn the skills and habits of mind to be mathematical thinkers. Inquiry and student-centered curriculum development are at the core of our efforts. We believe all students can be mathematicians and want to apply a growth mindset to the study of math. The work of Jo Boaler is important to our efforts.
