Miami Shores is located 8 miles north of downtown Miami with direct access to Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Miami Shores is known as one of the top residential communities in Miami-Dade County. The community has over 10,000 people, and is a modern residential community first and foremost, with well-maintained homes and lawns, an active civic life, and a responsive local government and safet...y program. Today our village calls itself the “Village Beautiful.”
Created in 1966 as a parent’s morning out program, MSPCS was, and is, well known for its small community and loving environment. Currently, MSPCS serves students from six weeks old to fifth graders. The programs for literacy include the HighScope program in the Preschool and the Center for Collaborative Classrooms program in the elementary school. Both programs are awarded citations for a rigorous academic program, while also focusing on social and emotional growth.
MSPCS' enrollment is on an upward trend, because of the positive word of mouth from out parents. For the 2017-2018 academic year, we are opening a second prekindergarten class and we are at capacity in grades kindergarten, second, third, and fourth. MSPCS is riding the Wave of Excellence.
