Position Description: Upper School Math Teacher
The primary responsibility of this full-time position is to teach Math in the Upper School. Qualified candidates are engaging, rigorous, and dynamic classroom teachers with experience in developing student-centered courses. Experience in teaching a wide range of math courses from Algebra through Multivariable Calculus is preferred, in addition to flexibility to teach throughout all grade levels. The typical full-time job at SPSG includes teaching four classes, advising, and an additional assignment such as mentoring a club or supervising students in co-curricular activities.
Minimum five years of experience teaching upper school math preferred
Desire to collaborate with math department, other faculty groups, and administrators to plan and implement departmental and school-wide goals
Ability to differentiate and willingness to work with Upper School Learning Services Specialist to support students
Adeptness at relating mathematical content to real-world examples and applications
Facility with creating and implementing interdisciplinary lessons and partnering with other disciplines in such lessons, activities, and projects
Strong technology skills, including familiarity with tools that support learning and organization
Enthusiasm for engaging fully in the life of the school, beyond classroom responsibilities
Ability to function well both independently and in a team setting
Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills
Demonstrated professionalism: ability to meet deadlines, lead initiatives, be proactive, and communicate with all constituencies of school community
Willingness and interest to participate in extra-curricular life of the girls and of the school
In addition to teaching, full-time SPSG faculty members serve as student advisors, mentor clubs, and contribute in other significant ways to the work of the community. The School is especially interested in candidates with coaching experience and/or those who are able to demonstrate initiative and serve as coaches in a variety of significant ways outside of the classroom. Other supervisory responsibilities and duties are shared among faculty members.

Additional Salary Information: This position is 100% full-time and a 10-month position. Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidate is eligible for full benefits package including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, disability, flexible spending and 403(b).
