Southern Teachers is assisting Christ School with its search for a Director of Advancement. Serving on the administrative team and reporting to the Headmaster, the Director of Advancement will oversee the operation of capital initiatives, the ongoing capital campaign, the annual fund, alumni affairs, major gift activity, planned giving, and the biennial Parent Council Auction. In addition, he or she will implement a newly defined, donor-funded, two-year initiative to increase the number of documented planned gifts. The Director of Advancement will serve on the Campaign Committee and the Communications and Marketing team; manage a portfolio of major gift donors and major gift prospects, including the cultivation and stewardship of each relationship; will travel to designated school gatherings; take an active role in planning and promoting alumni events; and supervise the staff of the Advancement Office, providing direction, feedback, and support to its members on an ongoing basis.
Christ School has enjoyed an extended period of dynamic growth, with record enrollment, several capital projects recently completed or underway, and robust fundraising. The Parent Council holds its auction every other year, with a goal of funding specific projects identified in advance. Past auctions typically have yielded a net of around $250,000.
