The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire, be approachable and collaborative, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations
Maintain and advance the school’s educational standards and curriculum with the staff
Actively lead development efforts, including annual campaigns, the endowment, and capital campaigns with our Board President and key support staff
Provide budgetary and financial leadership with our business manager and Board
Plan and implement the effective use of technology for the school with our technology coordinator
Lead and support the Headwaters Academy community as a role model for students, families, faculty, prospective students, and local feeder schools.
Cultivate strong relationships with parents, alumni, community members, and local schools
Maintain and increase student recruitment efforts, including advertising, outreach and admissions criteria with the admissions and marketing staff
Develop and implement strategies to further Headwaters Academy’s mission and long term success
Background in educational leadership or school administration
Experience in middle school setting is preferred
Advanced degree, preferably in education/leadership
Track record of success in marketing, fundraising, and alumni relations
Understanding of the independent school environment
Personal traits include: enthusiastic, optimistic, flexible, committed, high-energy, confident, focused and forward thinking
Prior teaching experience or working in independent schools
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse community including teachers, staff, parents, and students
