Harbor Day School, a co-ed K-8 school in Corona del Mar, California, with 408 students, seeks a Director of Lower School to begin on July 1, 2018. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Lower School oversees the day-to-day operations of the kindergarten through fourth grade division, including lower school admissions, curriculum/co-curriculum, faculty inspiration and supervision, and leadership and vision.
The duties and rewards of this position are numerous and vary throughout the year. Unique to the Harbor Day School Director of Lower School position is its additional responsibility for admissions into the Lower School. During the fall and through the winter, the Director of Lower School will spend a significant portion of his or her time on admissions activities, including meeting and touring with prospective parents, attending admissions events, and finally administering assessments and running the admissions committee meetings.

Genuine love for and understanding of young children from ages five through ten
Commitment to excellent and innovative education
Experience teaching in the lower grades and a deep understanding of elementary education
