We seek candidates who will bring vitality and experience to the full range of courses in the department, including U.S. History, World History, and electives as determined by department and teacher. Successful engagement with the age level and experience teaching history in the seminar format are essential foundations for the position. An advanced degree is desired, though not required. Experience running and supporting programs such as Model Congress, Model UN, JSA, and debate is a valuable, though not required, aspect of the job.
Passion for the subject and eagerness to engage with colleagues over pedagogical and curricular matters are crucial qualities that the School seeks in candidates. In addition to classroom teaching, the position includes athletic coaching, student advising, and evening/weekend supervisory duties. A willingness to participate with enthusiasm in all aspects of a residential school community is essential.
