Effective immediately, Fort Worth Country Day seeks an experienced Head Varsity Football Coach and Football Program Director.
At FWCD, Varsity Coaches serve as the Program Director for their sport and report directly to the Athletic Director. Program Directors in our Kindergarten through 12th grade school are responsible for supervising all aspects of the instruction and development of their sport in grades 7-12.
FWCD strives to provide a coaching staff that is not only knowledgeable and caring, but that also balances team and individual interests. Our desire is to provide a positive learning and growing experience for all of our students at every level of our programs. Program Directors and Head Coaches act as role models for all of their athletes and their entire coaching staff. Accordingly, and consistent with all of the school’s educators, FWCD seeks only applicants of the highest ethical and character standards for its next Head Varsity Football Coach.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Modelling integrity, work ethic and a commitment to the growth and development of student athletes of high character
Taking full responsibility for the supervision of the football program at FWCD
Supervising and evaluating all coaches working in the program
Adhering to Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), state and National Federation guidelines and rules
Providing the Athletic Director with a written set of guidelines for their team along with roster, practice calendar and other requested information
Following all Fort Worth Country Day athletic department and school policies
Keeping appropriate records as directed by the Athletic Director
Working with the athletic training staff for the benefit of the student/athlete
Promoting the program outside the school community
Developing and assisting with special events, i.e. tournaments, camps, clinics, etc.
Setting professional goals and/or objectives each season to be reviewed with the Athletic Director. Personal professional development, program development, mentoring of coaching staff and improvement of instruction or communication are potential goal setting topics
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience developing programs/players and leading/coordinating a team of coaches
Proven organizational and motivational skills
Demonstrated abilities in communication and community relations with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, administration and parents
Knowledge of appropriate safety measures to ensure well-being of players
