Madeira is seeking an energetic and compassionate Staff Nurse to join its Health and Wellness Center. The successful candidate will be able to integrate knowledge, skills and clinical experience to meet the needs of the boarding and day communities, summer programs and faculty/staff community.
Integrates knowledge, skills, and clinical experience to meet the needs of high school students, their families, and the community
Utilizes standards and guidelines for care delivery
Provides individualized patient education
Serves as clinical resource
Works closely with Dean of Students Office as part of the Student Life Department to teach topics related to health and wellness
Coordinates care for students with outside medical professionals
Drives student to off-campus medical care; acts as the student's advocate; serves as the liaison between the provider and the student/student's family
Maintains student's confidential files and records
Weekday and weekend office hours as well as weeknight and weekend on-call hours required
Degree from accredited school of nursing
Registered Nurse in Virginia or multi-state privilege
Adolescent/Triage experience a plus
Valid driver's license required
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Ability to innovate, problem solve and think creatively
Ability to make contribution to the School outside the Health and Wellness Center
Ability to use and adapt to a wide-array of technology as tools to support the Health and Wellness Center; familiarity with Magnus Health a plus
Assist in being a practitioner of diversity, equity and inclusion
Uphold the School's professional standards including punctuality, courtesy and discretion
Ability to support the residential program, including weeknight/weekend duties
Physical demands of this job include: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity. This job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
