The Development Assistant’s duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the Alumnae and Development Office. This position supports the areas of Special Events, Planned Giving, Major Gifts and Annual Giving through a variety of tasks related to each area. The Development Assistant has the ability to effectively communicate via phone and email, ensuring that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.
Serves as receptionist for the Alumnae and Development Office. Greets and directs guest. Screens and directs calls and addresses inquiries as appropriate.
Process multiple annual mailings including various mail merges (letters, envelopes, labels & nametags).
Maintains records for events database, including event attendance responses and post event follow-up.
Provides logistical support for event planning, preparation and execution.
Provide support when necessary for select travel arrangements for Major Gift and Planned Giving staff.
Accurately and efficiently organize, streamline and maintain several filing systems.
Assist with processing check requests, expense forms and credit card charges for Major Gift and Planned Giving staff.
Orders office supplies and maintains general A&D Office supply inventory.
Coordinate meetings, conference calls and scheduled on/off campus events, including reserving campus spaces.
Ability to run local errands including picking up orders and supplies as needed.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years working in an administrative capacity. Experience in Development a plus.
Extensive working experience with PC-based Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Experience using Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.

Sitting at a desk and using a computer much of the time.
