POSITION ?Community School is seeking a dynamic Upper School history teacher to begin August 13, 2018. This position teaches our World History 9 curriculum and up to two upper level history or humanities electives per term. Additional responsibilities include: serving as an Upper School advisor, participating in the school's extensive Outdoor Program, and leading at least one additional Upper School extracurricular activity. For the right candidate, serving as a live-in Residential Advisor in our Boarding Program is a possibility.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a collaborative, learner-centered, and inquiry-based educational program where innovation, differentiation, and a growth mindset are valued. Furthermore, the candidate must be committed to facilitating the study of history and the humanities through varied and diverse lenses that honestly portray the complexity of the human experience. Above all, the successful candidate must have a love of education and demonstrate an engaged and flexible approach in the classroom and beyond. This is a full-time position, with benefits.
