EF Academy New York:
Set on a beautiful 100-acre campus only 45 minutes from New York City, EF Academy New York is home to 700 students from 60 different countries. Our students call their school “a home away from home” and are provided with impressive campus facilities, including two dormitories, modern dining facilities, classrooms and science lab, a 400-seat theatre, Athletic Center, Dance Studio and professional grade tennis courts.
The Director of Housing oversees the day-to-day operations of an international boarding school of 750+ students. Along with directly supervising the Deans of Students, the school nurses and the Activities Coordinator, the Director of Housing implements, manages and improves policies and procedures as it relates to (a) the house parent manual, (b) student accountability and (c) evening study hall and weekend activities. She/he will be responsible for improving community spirit, enhancing both the Prefect and house system programs and delivering a robust offering of weekend activities. The Director of Housing also manages the on-duty calendar for 30+ residential staff and oversees the four student intake periods which include (a) September, (b) January, (c) April and (d) June/July. When necessary, the Director of Housing also works with the house parents to solve roommate conflicts, maintains up-to-date and accurate records regarding check-in, study hall, attendance, off-campus request and student housing files associated with health and insurance information. Work closely with the schools’ team of Guidance Counsellors to support the welfare and safety of all our students. Finally, the Director of Housing oversees the transfer process ensuring that students are properly greeted upon arrival to the airport and a safe and timely transfer has been arranged.
Essential Job Functions:
Reflect the mission of EF Academy and the core values of EF.
Determine work schedules for residential staff.
Monitor emotional, physical, psychological well-being of student population with the house parents, Counseling Department and School Nurse.
Ensure people are properly trained on best practices for proper supervision of students all aspects of housing including our in-house software program Residence Manager.
Support and supervise the deans, nurses, and activities coordinator in their job functions.
Oversee the management of the schools’ residence allocation system ‘Booker 25’
Maintain order and enforce rules in the dorms.
React to emergency situations.
Reside on campus and understand that as the leader of the housing program one will be asked to take some weekend and holiday shifts.
Commitment to working hours and availability that reflects the needs of a Boarding community.
Communicate directly with parents and our Global Admissions teams
Other duties at the discretion of the Head of School.

Provide campus tours to parents, potential students and guests.
