Menlo School, an independent college preparatory school with grades 6 through 12, is looking for a committed, engaged, passionate Varsity Football coach for our high school students. The ideal candidate will be a coach who wants to make a positive impact on the lives of student-athletes and who has prior football playing experience. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of the game and have the ability to coach individual football fundamentals and technique.
Menlo School seeks a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong commitment to athletics, with addition emphasis on the integration of compliance, academics, character, diversity, and the athletic and academic experience of the student-athlete. Candidate should embrace diversity and demonstrate inclusion; maintain a commitment to departmental engagement, including collaborative interaction with athletics staff and coaches. Candidates are expected to be responsible for instructing student-athletes during practices and games as well working collaboratively as a team with the entire coaching staff. This candidate should possess established leadership/mentor role among student-athletes and other supportive staff while promoting sportsmanship and responsible behavior both during and outside of athletic competition. This coach serves as a positive, inspirational leader for the football program, athletics department, and the school.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Understanding of what it means to be a high school student/athlete
Prior experience playing at high school is required - prior collegiate playing experience is a plus
Minimum of three years prior coaching experience at the high school level preferred.
Ability to pass FBI and California Department of Justice complete background check.
Depending on the candidate and the candidate's availability, this has the potential to be a full-time benefited position (with time spent in US football, MS football and MS P.E.)
Knowledge of CCS rules.
Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Desire and ability to work in a collaborative manner with other coaches.
Ability to work as part of a team and work independently.
Ability to show initiative, organize workflow, and lead.
Effective communication skills.
Previous coaching experience preferred.
Experience with and/or ability to utilize video preferred.
Ability to interact with student athletes of different ages and football skill levels in a positive and professional manner.
Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all Menlo School staff are considered to be role models for students.
