Ransom Everglades School is seeking applications for a full time, Upper School teaching position in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, beginning in August 2018. This faculty member will teach computer science courses, with additional courses in mathematics and other duties assigned depending on the experience of the successful candidate. The Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Ransom Everglades offers a range of courses in mathematics and computer science, including AP courses in computer science, statistics, and calculus, as well as elective courses in computer science and linear algebra. The department seeks to grow its curriculum, especially in computer science, applied mathematics, and interdisciplinary studies. Candidates should be prepared to contribute to the department’s ongoing discussions about interdisciplinary and project-based learning, best practices in the use of technology in the teaching and learning of mathematics, and be comfortable with the School’s value for inquiry-based, student-centered learning. Prior teaching experience in computer science is required; prior independent school teaching experience is preferred. Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
