Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic girls school for students in grades 5-12 founded in 1907 in Seattle, WA, seeks a Director of High School, the educational leader who oversees the faculty, staff, operations, programs, and facilities of the upper division of the school, beginning in the 2018-19 school year. The Director of High School is responsible for the academic and social-emotional program of grades 9 through 12. S/he reports to the Head of School, working collaboratively with the senior administrative team to ensure that Forest Ridge is a leader in girls’ education. S/he will be immersed in the life of the school, connecting to both students and faculty and establishing a strong presence in their lives. The Director oversees a High School administrative team and will assume responsibility for:
Insuring consistent integration of the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education within the life of the High School community
Serving as the Catholic faith leader in an inclusive Catholic school serving families with diverse religious backgrounds and practices
Overseeing all processes related to faculty hiring, professional development and evaluation
Designing and implementing the High School academic, extracurricular, and wellness programs
Integrating the small international boarding program into the life of the school
Championing the successes of the High School girls and program for all audiences
The High School recently began the intentional process of designing an integrated global curriculum, a process that has been dynamic and fast-paced. The successful candidate will bring experience in implementing change and the bold leadership that characterizes such important work. The school has also launched a Center for Girls that focuses on discovering the leader within in each girl through relationship-based programming. The Director would be directly engaged in building that program as well.

Deep knowledge and keen interest of educational research and trends
Superb oral and written communication skills with a commitment to building relationships
Impressive organization, facilitation and problem-solving skills
A minimum of five years of teaching and administration experience
A Master’s degree
Curiosity, wonder and the ability to laugh easily and at themselves, too
Preference will be given to candidates with independent and girls school experience
